KBC Private Equity
KBC Private Equity, the private equity house of the KBC group,
provides growth capital to and finances the buyouts of medium
sized companies for amounts of between 2 million and 50 million
euros. KBC Private Equity operates primarily in Belgium and in
Central and Eastern Europe, the KBC group’s home markets,
with offices in Brussels, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Bucharest
and Moscow.
KBC Private Equity may take either majority or minority
shareholdings in companies and contributes financial resources
in the form of equity finance and/or mezzanine finance. With an
experienced team of 30 people, KBC Private Equity has around
seventy active investments in portfolio with a market value of
about €500 million.
An active shareholder with a long term perspective, it is involved
in taking strategic decisions and providing support to
management in the further development of their company. As a
member of the KBC group, KBC Private Equity can rely on the

KBC Private Equity Fund Biotech
KBC Private Equity Fund Biotech is a Privak, i.e. a closed-end
investment company under Belgian law, with registered office at
2 Havenlaan, 1080 Brussels. Incorporated in the first quarter of
2001, Biotech focuses on investing in biopharmaceutical
companies around the world. It is listed on Euronext Brussels
and its capital is represented by 3,416,667 shares. Paying
agents are KBC Bank, CBC Banque and Centea. At the outset,
Biotech invested its capital in a portfolio of listed biotech
companies, but has gradually started to invest in unlisted
companies as interesting investment opportunities crop up.
KBC ARKIV
KBC Arkiv is a subsidiary of KBC Private Equity and Arkimedes-
Fonds, offering growth capital and advice to innovative, rapidly
growing Flemish enterprises. KBC Arkiv is a fund with fixed
capital for 10 years and has at its disposal an investment
budget of 25 million euros. KBC Arkiv is managed by KBC Private
Equity. KBC Arkiv has invested in 12 promising Flemish

Biovest
Biovest was the founding investor in Innogenetics and invests
currently as a private fund in mid-stage Biotech companies. The
fund invests in quoted and unquoted companies. The portfolio
contains companies such as Devgen, Thrombogenics,
PharmaNeuroBoost and ActoGeniX.
